Project METERON

The METERON project provides a glimpse into the future exploration of Mars by astronaut robot teams and transfers the insights from space to society!

The German Aerospace Center (DLR) is an active partner in the METERON project, along with ESA and NASA. DLR is spearheading the SUPVIS Justin experiment to address the local intelligence of a robot required to interpret and execute an astronaut’s command.

The findings of the project are applied in elderly care scenarios, where assistance robots shall support nursing staff in time-consuming tasks so that the humans can commit more time on social interaction with those in need of care.
