The number of German freelancers has almost doubled over the last ten years. But they don’t get the help they deserve, especially when it comes to the complexity of finances. Traditional banks don’t provide products that cater to their specific needs, choosing instead to offer them accounts conceived either for consumers or large companies. But these don’t take into consideration the huge administrative burden freelancers face on their own: they have to deduct value-added tax, income tax, social contributions, liquidity buffers and so on from their revenues. Getting an overview of their finances and feeling in control of their business is difficult for freelancers.
