Valerie Bures

Partner and head of DACH
XAnge

Valerie has been one of Germany's most successful entrepreneurs for years and knows all the ups and downs of being a founder. She has been a venture partner at the London-based early-stage venture capital company Exceptional Ventures since 2022 and has been a partner and DACH head of the French venture capital company XAnge since May of this year.

At the age of 24, the computer scientist founded Europe's largest women's fitness chain Mrs.Sporty together with tennis legend Steffi Graf, among others.

In 2011, she founded Pixformance Sports GmbH, creating an unprecedented concept among digital solutions in the fitness and health market. Through the Pixformance Stations she developed, therapists in eleven countries, such as at the Charité in Berlin, are relieved of the burden of instructing their patients in exercise. The station automatically creates individual exercise plans for patients and provides digital feedback on the execution of exercises.

The VAHA fitness mirror, which Bures launched in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and England in 2020, is based on a similar approach and is the smart advancement for all sports enthusiasts at home. An interactive personal trainer is streamed into your own home via a mirror surface. Live classes, personal training and videos on demand are available here in hundreds of streams every day (from yoga to endurance to back training). In 2021, goalkeeping legend Manuel Neuer joined the company, and in 2022, Bures sold the company.

As a mother of three, author and speaker at various conferences, Bures finds her personal balance primarily in nature and sports.
