The European Innovation Council €10bn budget tackles high risk, high reward startups funding gap. But in order for the European innovation ecosystem to thrive we need to better use the potential offered by more diverse tools of actions to support innovation makers and deep tech companies in Europe. 

 

After a general presentation of what is the EIC, Bertrand will focus on the potential of what can offer public and private buyers to SMEs and start up in Europe.

 

Indeed, accounting for over 14% of GDP, EU public procurement could create a huge market for innovative products and services, but its potential in this area remains underutilised. The European Commission aims to improve public and private procurement practices, promote the demand of innovative goods, services and works in Europe, and foster the uptake of innovation in the EU.
