Prof. Dr. Gunter Dueck

Prof. Dr. Gunter Dueck (born 1951) is a Chief Technologist and Distinguished Engineer at IBM Germany.

In 1977 Gunter Dueck earned his doctorate at the University of Bielefeld in mathematics after 10 years research together with his father Rudolf Ahlswede.With this he won the 1990 Prize Paper Award from the IEEE Information Theory Society for a new theory of message identification. In 1981, he worked for five years as professor of mathematics at the University of Bielefeld.

Dueck has worked at the IBM Scientific Centre in Heidelberg since 1987. He works in the field of strategy and the technological direction of IBM and deals with cultural change.
In 2009 he was named Business Leader of "Dynamic Infrastructure". Dueck is a member of the IBM Academy of Technology, IEEE Fellow and a corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences in Göttingen.

In addition, Dueck is author of numerous satirical and philosophical books, which deal with the subject's life, people and managers. Among other things, his own philosophy was published in three volumes: Omnisophie: About right, true and natural man (2002), Supra mania: from duty people to score Man (2003) and Topothesie: Man in animal welfare (2004). One of his most famous books "Lean Brain Management - success and efficiency by zero-brain" was a satirical and sarcastic warning from an economic horror scenario of the dumbing down of people and Callcenterisierung work.
