Start Jerusalem is a global competition organized by Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Jerusalem Development Authority, which brings together startups from 35 different countries to compete for the opportunity to take part in a 5-day innovation experience in Jerusalem, Israel - one of the world’s leading tech ecosystems.

During the trip, the winners will get through an immersive experience of inspiring talks, hands-on workshops and high-level networking with the country’s leading entrepreneurs and investors. The winners will reflect the most promising startups from each country.

Why Jerusalem?
During the last 4 years Jerusalem has been acknowledged as one of the fastest growing tech hubs by various media outlets and research centers. Foundations are pouring resources on its cultural renaissance, and the state has allocated more than a billion NIS to support its growth in the form of grants, tax benefits, and scholarships.

Why Israel?
Israel is known around the world as “The Startup Nation”. Through its human capital, Israel generates more startup companies than other large, industrial nations around the world. In addition, Israel has attracted very much venture capital investment in the last years.

Further, the Hebrew University which is ranked among the top 100 academic institutions and The Bezalel Academy of art and design which is considered to be one of the leading design schools worldwide are just part of a long list of outstanding academic institutions located in Jerusalem.

The Prize
The winners will participate in a 5-day, all expenses paid trip to Israel participating in an exclusive program where they get the chance to learn, meet and connect with Israel’s leading tech figures including top-notch entrepreneurs, investors and domain experts. In addition the participants will experience the mythical City of Jerusalem and the abundance it has to offer to tourists in almost every aspect: culture, history and vibrant night scene.

Conditions to eligibility to submit a company to this StartJLM Competition:

• Sectors: Technology, Web, Mobile and ICT
• Stage: Seed Stage
• Location: Germany only, since this is the German edition of the competition.

Time and Dates:

• August 28th: Jury Vote for THREE FINALISTS
• September 8th: PITCH FINALS during Startupnight Berlin
• Jerusalem Trip: The date for the prize trip is beginning/mid of November
